Department of Implementation Science

A catalyst for the adoption, integration, and sustainability of evidence-based practices into real world settings to improve population health

In 2017, the Department of Implementation Science was created to serve as a catalyst for the adoption, integration, and sustainability of evidence-based practices into real word settings to improve population health. The Department will focus on three core areas of inquiry and translation:

  • the use of health services research to identify opportunities for improved care delivery-prioritizing organizational, health systems, and policy gaps and solutions
  • identifying efficacious, cost-effective, and time-neutral solutions to implementing the best and most promising health care and public health practices
  • testing implementation and dissemination strategies to more efficiently and effectively translate evidence-based strategies into real world clinical and population health settings

Faculty and staff in this Department reflect the diversity of academics and stakeholders who are critical to achieving the mission of improved population health through science-to-practice translation.
