HELP: Understanding and Administering Online Profiles

Instructions: How To Update Your PHS Website Profile

Using your Medical Center credentials, login to the secure portion of the PHS website by clicking the link above titled "Employee Login". Then click on the appropriate link to update your profile or publications listing.

Your PHS profile pulls information from various data sources, each requiring different approaches to update:

  1. Administrative Employee Information (Under "Update Your Profile" secure link):
This is your PHS Division-level employee information which is housed in the PERFORM database. This information includes data such as your name, employee number, email, title, job type, department/section number, phone and location. You can not alter this information yourself. You have to contact your Department or Section representative (listed below) to update this information.

  2. Supplemental Employee Information (Under "Update Your Profile" secure link):
This includes your picture, Curriculum Vitae, degree suffix, MyNCBI/Google Scholar publications link, address, administrative secretary designation, education, interests (for staff), and research/publications (for faculty). You, or your designated administrative secretary can alter this information by logging into the secure portion of the PHS Website (login located in the upper right-hand corner of every PHS website page) using your Medical Center credentials. Once logged in, click on "Update Personal Information" in the left-hand menu. You'll see the Administrative Employee Information (mention above) displayed with a yellow background for you to review. Supplemental Employee Information can be altered below that in a series of tools and form elements.

  3. Publication Information:
Please administer your publications using a tool like the the MyNCBI or Google Scholar. Then enter your public link to one of these listings into the Supplemental Employee Information section as noted above.
